ActivePrunus cerasus L. · Sour cherry
Ujfehertoi Gyumolcstermesztesi Kutato, H
10 August 2026
The variety is the result of clonal selection from the Hungarian Pándy population. The tree has medium to vigorous growth, forming a spreading, densely branched crown. Mature plants are prone to branch thinning, which requires regular pruning.
Fruits are large, with a weight of about 6 g, a diameter of 23–24 mm, and have a slightly flattened spherical shape. The skin is glossy, dark red, and the flesh is red, firm, and juicy. The fruits are characterized by good resistance to cracking and ripen in late June — early July.
The variety is self-fertile and is distinguished by early onset of fruiting. It is suitable both for fresh consumption and for processing, including freezing and canning.
