The variety is early-ripening; fruits ripen in early June. In some historical sources, it is described as "visciolona" — a large-fruited form having characteristics intermediate between sour cherry and sweet cherry.
The fruits have an intense red color, the taste is characterized as excellent, and the juice as wine-like and sweet. Trees of this variety form strong and upright, but short branches.
