The variety is characterized by moderate tree vigor. Forms with spreading branches are encountered, as well as variants with a weeping crown. The plant possesses sufficient hardiness, however, it can be sensitive to fungal diseases, in particular to leaf curl.

Fruits are medium to large in size, flat in shape, and colored bright red or dark red. The flesh is firm, yellowish in hue, with a sweet-and-sour taste intermediate between a sour cherry and a sweet cherry. The juice is abundant and can be either colorless or pigmented.

The variety is intended for processing; the fruits are traditionally used for making confectionery, jams, preserves, and for preservation in alcohol. Suitable for both amateur gardening and commercial use.
