Ujfehertoi furtos
ActivePrunus cerasus L. · Sour cherry
Ujfehertoi Gyumolcstermesztesi Kutato, H
10 August 2026
The variety is a clone selected from the Schattenmorelle group. The tree can be low- or medium-vigorous with drooping shoots; forms positioned as dwarf are also encountered. The fruits are large, weighing about 5.3 g, round-oval in shape, and dark red to almost black in color. The flesh is soft, juicy, dark red, sour, with a stone that separates easily.
It belongs to the late-ripening varieties, maturing in the 8th–9th cherry week, but precedes the original Schattenmorelle type in terms of timing. It is characterized by high self-fertility and yield. It shows increased resistance to bacterial canker and Prunus necrotic ringspot virus.
