The variety was obtained in Canada as a result of crossing the varieties Lapins and breeding line 2N-39-5. The tree has an upright crown shape and moderate vigor, and is distinguished by good annual productivity.
The fruits are large, 29–30 mm in caliber, round or kidney-shaped. Upon full ripening, the skin acquires a dark garnet, almost black color; the flesh is red and firm. The variety belongs to the self-compatibility group S3S4'.
The ripening period is late, 7 days later than the Bing variety. There is moderate susceptibility of the fruits to cracking during rainy weather in the ripening period.
