The Superstar variety is a sweet cherry variety, not a sour cherry. It was created during breeding programs in Bulgaria aimed at improving fruit quality and the tree's morphological characteristics.
The goal of breeding for this variety was to create self-fertile forms possessing a compact crown, which contributes to increased cultivation efficiency and high-quality harvest characteristics.
