ActivePrunus domestica L. · European plum

10 August 2026
The tree is vigorous, powerful, and spreading; it possesses relative winter hardiness but is prone to alternate bearing. The variety is self-fertile, however, it is susceptible to fungal diseases such as shot-hole disease.
The fruits are large, oval-shaped, and taper at both ends. The skin is golden-yellow, firm, and covered with a thin waxy bloom. The flesh is yellow, juicy, but coarse, fibrous, and adheres tightly to the stone.
The variety is late-maturing. The fruits have mediocre taste quality when consumed fresh, are prone to dropping when grown on light soils, and are used mainly for making jams, preserves, and canned goods.
