ActivePrunus domestica L. · European plum

The tree is vigorous with a dense globular crown and thick shoots. The wood of the branches is brittle and prone to breaking under the weight of the crop. The variety is self-pollinating and relatively undemanding regarding growing conditions, although fruit quality decreases noticeably on poor soils and in cold regions.
The fruits are medium-sized, weighing 30–40 g, have an oval or globular shape and thin, tough, blue-violet skin. The flesh is juicy, sweet, finely fibrous, and adheres to the pit. Ripening occurs from mid-September to early October.
The variety possesses resistance to Plum pox virus and is insensitive to frosts, but is prone to Monilinia infection in rainy weather. Historically, the tree was used as a rootstock for stone fruit crops and for propagation by layering.
