The Prugna del Cuore tree possesses high growth vigor and is considered hardy, of the "wild" type, which allows for cultivation in orchards with minimal maintenance. Fructification occurs in the 4th–5th year after planting.
The medium-sized fruits have a characteristic heart shape and yellow flesh that separates well from the stone. The skin color varies from yellow with a red hue to red-violet. The variety matures in the period from July 10 to July 20 and is intended primarily for fresh consumption, with the fruits having a short shelf life.
