Ferciana is a complex interspecific hybrid, the origin of which is described as (Prunus cerasifera x Prunus salicina) x (Prunus cerasifera x Prunus persica). It is a low-vigor rootstock that restricts the development of trees grafted onto it.
The rootstock is compatible with Japanese plum and is also used for grafting apricot, peach, and almond. It ensures high fruiting efficiency for grafted varieties. Features include low resistance to bacterial canker and nematodes, as well as limitations regarding cultivation in heavy soils.
