Brutta e Bona is an ancient local variety preserved through folk selection and cultivation by local farmers over a long period. The variety is included in the official lists of traditional regional products of Italy and is a subject of biodiversity protection programs.
The fruits of the variety are characterized by small size and brown skin color, which corresponds to the literal translation of the name as 'ugly but good'. In open sources, there is no systematized data on tree growth, exact ripening dates, or disease immunity.

Green indicates countries where the variety is listed in the national catalogue and its seeds are authorized for sale. Expired registrations are marked separately: the variety was previously admitted, but sale is no longer permitted.
