The variety DI POSTA, also known as Pero di Posta, originates from the municipality of Posta Fibreno in the province of Frosinone. The plant is a traditional local variety, which is cultivated in orchards on the hills of the Comino Valley.
The fruits of this variety are characterized by a medium or large size. They are not suitable for consumption immediately after harvest and require storage in a specialized room for ripening for several weeks. The variety is grown primarily for local consumption purposes.
