A variety of French origin, obtained in 1840. Fruits are very large, with a mass of about 350 g, having a pear-shaped, bellied, asymmetric shape. The skin is thin or medium thickness, shiny, greenish-yellow in color with a characteristic blush.
The flesh is juicy, melting, sweet with a slight acidity and a pronounced aroma. The tree is characterized by vigorous growth; the crown is high, pyramidal in shape, and dense. The variety belongs to the autumn group; fruits ripen at the end of September.
The variety is diploid and prone to parthenocarpy. Sensitivity to fire blight (Erwinia amylovora) is noted. Under suboptimal growing conditions, stone cells may appear in the flesh.
