Trees of this variety are characterized by very vigorous growth and form large, powerful crowns typical of traditional landscape orchards. The variety is known for high productivity and the ability to produce abundant harvests, while the plant is characterized as hardy and undemanding to growing conditions, suitable for cultivation in foothill areas.

The fruits are small in size, have firm flesh with moderate juiciness and a sweet-sour taste. The harvest period falls at the beginning of September; the fruits reach consumer maturity in September but have low keeping quality, remaining fresh for about two weeks. Historically, the variety was mainly used for making pear syrup or fruit butter.
