The variety belongs to the group of Asian pears and does not belong to the species Pyrus communis. Historically, the variety is widespread in the regions of Northern China, including the provinces of Shanxi, Hebei, and Manchuria.

The plant possesses high winter hardiness and drought tolerance. Genetically, the variety is known for its resistance to pear scab, due to the presence of the dominant gene Rvn4.

The fruits have a rounded or apple-like shape characteristic of Asian pears. The flesh of the fruits is firm, sweet, and juicy; they are suitable for long-term storage and transportation.
