The HW 606 variety (also known as Bliss) is a selection from the Harrow Research Station. The fruits ripen in mid-August and are characterized by an aroma due to high levels of decadienoates, which makes them similar to Bartlett pears.
The plant possesses resistance to fire blight, however, it is prone to low yields. When cultivating, one should consider the variety's sensitivity to products based on neem oil, which cause phytotoxic tissue damage.
