The PING-GOU-LI variety belongs to the group of Asian pears, often classified as Pyrus bretschneideri or Pyrus ussuriensis. The fruits have a rounded, apple-like shape and reach a weight of 200 to 400 grams. Their skin is colored green or yellow-green, sometimes with a slight blush.
The flesh of the fruit is snow-white, very juicy, firm and crunchy, with a texture resembling an apple, and a honey-sweet taste. The variety is distinguished by high yield, good transportability, keeping quality, as well as winter hardiness and resistance to diseases. Harvest maturity occurs in the period from mid-September to the end of October.
