The variety is historical and has been mentioned in pomological literature since the beginning of the 19th century. It is known by a number of names, including "Лимонная кармелиток", Glasbirne, Heubirne, Erntebirne and Grüne Jakobsbirne.

Fruits of this summer variety are characterized as small. Depending on the classification, the variety can be considered both dessert and culinary. Due to its adaptability to local conditions, it is included in modern programs for the conservation of biodiversity of old varieties.
