The variety is an old Italian type of pear, the synonymy of which remains a subject of discussion. In a number of scientific papers, it is associated with the Curato variety, however, genetic studies confirm differences between the samples passing under this name.

The tree is characterized as fairly vigorous and productive, but prone to irregular bearing. The fruits are small in size and elongated in shape, provided with a long peduncle. The skin of the fruit is green; a bronze shade appears on the sunny side.

In agronomic studies, the variety is considered in the context of studying susceptibility to the pear psyllid (Cacopsylla pyri). The addition to the name in the form of a geographical reference likely indicates a regional ecotype rather than the official name of the variety.
