Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety originated in the 19th century in the vicinity of Castel Madama. The plant is characterized by medium vigor, spreading habit, and medium-high productivity. The fertility type is partially self-fertile; Coscia or William varieties are recommended for pollination.

The fruits have a pear-like elongated shape and an average weight of about 70 g. The smooth yellow-green skin is covered with small lenticels. The white fine-grained flesh is juicy; the sugar content is about 11.6 °Brix. The harvest ripens in the second ten-day period of July.

The fruits are intended for fresh consumption, preparation of desserts, jams, and culinary use, in particular in combination with cheeses and nuts.
