Variety description

10 August 2026

The SPADONA DI SALERNO variety is autochthonous to the Campania region. The tree has excellent vigor and is well compatible with quince rootstocks. The variety is characterized by early flowering and requires pollinators, for which the Coscia and Williams varieties are suitable.

The fruits are medium-sized and pear-shaped. The skin is green, with a possible pinkish tint on the sunny side. The flesh is juicy. The variety belongs to the Low Chill group, which means a low requirement for cold dormancy hours, allowing it to be grown in warm climates.
