The variety is an evergreen shrub with a rounded crown shape. The plant is characterized by rapid growth, has alternate leaves and attractive flowering. In a number of publications, this variety is classified as an azalea.
The plant is intended for ornamental use in landscape design, in particular for creating group plantings or as a solitary plant. In literature, under the name "Darius", there is also a historical hybrid variety from 1894, which is not identical to this modern variety.
