The shrub has a broad, rounded, dense crown shape. At ten years of age, the plant height is about 1.4 m; mature specimens reach 1.8–2.5 m in height with a comparable width. The leaves are evergreen, leathery, dark green, glossy, and elliptical or lanceolate in shape.

Large funnel-shaped flowers with a diameter of up to 10 cm have a pink or dark pink hue with a violet tint, wavy edges, and spots on the upper petal. Flowering occurs from mid-May to early June. The inflorescences are dense, consisting of 10–15 flowers.

The variety is frost-resistant, withstands temperature drops down to -24 °C, and tolerates moderate air pollution in urban environments. Prefers partial shade, protection from wind, and acidic, loose, well-drained humus soils. The superficial root system requires mulching.
