The plant forms a dense, compact, wide-spreading bush reaching a height of about 1.5 meters at the age of 10 years. The variety was obtained through selection from open-pollinated seeds of Rhododendron catawbiense.
Flowering of the variety occurs abundantly in the period from the end of May to the beginning of June. The flowers have a pale lilac or light violet shade, decorated with olive-green spots. The variety is characterized by good winter hardiness, suitable for the climatic conditions of Latvia.
