The Ivar variety belongs to the energy willow crop, used for biomass production within a short rotation coppice system. The plant is intended for the production of wood chips for thermal power plants.
The variety is intended for cultivation with harvest intervals of 2 to 4 years. Within the breeding program, work was focused on increasing resistance to leaf rust, pests, and frost, as well as on improving yield compared to industrial standards.
The right is granted for a limited term: propagation of the variety requires a license from the rights holder.
