Rapp
TerminatedSalix L. · Willow
Stig Larsson
10 August 2026
The variety was obtained by intraspecific crossing of Salix viminalis clones. Its main purpose is energy use; however, the plant's yield decreases due to significant resource expenditure on the formation of catkins and seeds.
Compared to later breeding forms, the variety is inferior in stem quality. There is a risk of rust infection, which is why the use of clonal mixtures is recommended in industrial plantations to reduce the pathogen load.
At the present time, the variety is considered more in the historical context of energy willow breeding development rather than as a standard for modern production.
