The potato variety «Lehioner» was created within the framework of a Ukrainian breeding program. In publications describing the history of potato breeding in Ukraine, it is mentioned in a group with the varieties «Partner», «Spokusa», and «Radinka», which were developed by the breeder Lyudmila Vasilievna Nezakonova.
Data on the morphological characteristics and maturity group of the variety are absent in open sources. There are general mentions of the breeding station's work on developing nematode-resistant potato varieties, as well as information regarding the plant's good adaptive properties and the resistance of eyes to sprouting during the harvesting process.
