The variety is the result of Italian breeding. Genetically, it is a hybrid of the Altgold Rotkorn spelt variety and the Spada soft wheat variety. In classification, the variety belongs to winter forms of cereals.
The variety is used for research purposes, in particular in work on studying genetic diversity and developing molecular genetic markers for the identification of spelt in flour mixtures. Detailed agronomic characteristics of the plant are absent in open publications.
