The variety is classified as an ancient landrace of winter spelt. In scientific research, it is studied as a source of valuable breeding traits and is characterized by good indicators of thousand kernel weight, gluten content, water absorption capacity of flour, and starch pasting parameters.
During comparative trials, the variety was also tested for resistance to Fusarium head blight. Due to its origin from local populations, the variety possesses a specific set of genetic characteristics that are applied in programs for improving the baking properties of spelt flour.
