The variety possesses winter hardiness approaching the level of common wheat. Grain quality studies indicate a gluten index of 17.74 and a yellowness index value.

In comparative trials, the variety demonstrates susceptibility and severe infection by the leaf spot pathogens Pyrenophora tritici-repentis and Phaeosphaeria nodorum. It is used as a parental form in the creation of synthetic amphiploids.
