The variety is of French origin and is universal, suitable both for fresh consumption and for winemaking in blends. The bushes have medium vigor, well-ripening shoots, and hermaphroditic flowers.
Clusters are medium or large in size, dense, and broad-conical in shape. Berries are large, round, dark pink and non-uniform in color with thick skin and a waxy bloom. Leaves are large, three- or five-lobed, with distinct pubescence on the underside.
The variety is characterized by high fertility, but is susceptible to fungal diseases, including downy mildew, powdery mildew, and grey mold. The berries have a simple taste, and wines based on it are characterized by lightness and moderate acidity.
