The variety belongs to the category of minor Spanish grape varieties used in winemaking. It is being studied to evaluate its potential under climate change conditions, to analyze the aromatic profile of wines, and to assess the possibility of obtaining high-quality products. The variety serves as one of the parents for the Maturana Blanca hybrid.

The plant demonstrates a high capacity to maintain water status and efficient water use during cultivation. Research is being conducted to evaluate its susceptibility to downy mildew. During microvinification experiments, the potential alcohol content in wines from this variety varied in the range of 11–12.5% vol.
