The variety is an autochthonous cultivar preserved through folk selection. The plant is characterized by medium yield and has small, dense clusters of an intense violet-blue color.

Wines made from this variety are noted for distinct aromas of strawberry, cherry, raspberry, as well as spice and herbaceous notes. The wines have an intense ruby color, freshness, and good aging potential with prolonged maceration.

The variety is used exclusively for winemaking. Currently, work is underway to restore and study it as a rare genetic resource.
