The variety is a color mutation of the variety Carignan. The plant is distinguished by high vigor and produces large round berries, which may acquire a bluish hue upon ripening.

This variety belongs to late maturity groups. It possesses resistance to arid conditions, but is sensitive to cold during the growing season. Due to compact clusters, the variety is prone to grey mold infection and also displays high sensitivity to powdery mildew.

It is a wine variety intended for the production of white wines used both in blends and as a single-varietal. The produce is distinguished by potential for sugar accumulation and balanced acidity.
