The variety is an autochthon of Corsica or Sardinia and is a natural hybrid of the Visparola variety and an unknown variety, having no genetic relationship with the Carcajolo noir variety. The plant has good vigor, requires careful tying, and bud burst occurs early.

The leaves are dark green, deeply lobed. Bunches are large, cylindrical, dense or very dense. Berries are medium-sized, round, white with a thick waxy bloom. The variety prefers a hot, dry climate and well-lit areas.

The variety is susceptible to oidium and grey rot, and exhibits moderate resistance to downy mildew. The grapes are characterized by low sugar accumulation potential; the resulting wines have moderate or low alcohol content and are often used in blends.
