The Carillon variety (breeding number FR 628-2005r) was bred by crossing Bronner and Mtp 3179-90-7 with introgression of Muscadinia rotundifolia, Vitis vinifera, and Vitis amurensis genes. The plant is characterized by upright, moderately vigorous growth and the formation of a small number of lateral shoots.
The grapes ripen 10 days later than the Pinot Noir variety. The variety possesses high resistance to downy mildew, powdery mildew, grey mold, and Drosophila suzukii, as well as low susceptibility to berry shatter. The bunches are medium-sized, compact, with large blue berries with firm skins.
The yield of the variety is 80–110 kg/a, and the sugar content is 85–100 degrees Oechsle. The wine is distinguished by pronounced color, soft tannins, and spicy notes.
