The variety belongs to late ripening groups. The plant is vigorous, buds open late, which provides protection against spring frosts. The variety is susceptible to powdery mildew, downy mildew, and grey mold, the latter of which develops particularly actively due to the dense structure of the clusters.
Leaves are large, five-lobed, deeply incised, with a blistered surface. Clusters are medium, dense, conical or cylindrical in shape, and often have wings. Berries are medium, rounded, have thick skin and a greyish, sometimes pinkish-tinted, color.
The variety is used for wine production, often in blends. Taste characteristics of the wines can vary from alcoholic with notes of bitterness to fresh and mineral when grown on suitable terroirs.
