Variety description

Wine grape variety of the third maturity group, characterized by vigorous growth, upright shoots, and high productivity. Young shoots have dense pubescence, and leaves of mature plants are pentagonal with three or five lobes. Berries have an elliptical shape and are covered with a heavy bloom.

The variety is prone to early budburst and possesses a marked susceptibility to sour rot. Wines made from this grape are distinguished by a garnet hue, aromas of blackcurrant, cherry, raspberry, and blackberry, as well as spicy and herbaceous notes. Tannins are usually well-balanced.
