The variety is characterized by very late bud burst. Vines have vigorous growth and an upright habit; young leaves have a characteristic bronze-orange hue. Bunches are medium to large in size, berries are small, round, and black in color.

The plant features high resistance to downy mildew, while showing sensitivity to grey mold and powdery mildew. Yield is estimated as medium; long pruning is recommended due to low fertility.

Wines from this variety possess a deep color, good structure, pronounced tannins, moderate acidity, and a potentially high alcohol level. The aromatics include notes of blackcurrant, dark cherry, plum, as well as herbaceous nuances and spices.
