The variety belongs to the Serine family. The plant's clusters are medium-sized and compact. The berries are black, medium-sized, have thin skin, juicy flesh, and a simple taste.

The exact origin of the variety is unknown, however, it is historically associated with the Ardèche region in France. The variety is included in the official French grapevine catalog.
