The variety is late-ripening and high-yielding, which requires crop load control. Flowers are hermaphroditic. The plant possesses good adaptation to the climatic conditions of the Arribes and Douro regions, yet it is susceptible to the main fungal diseases, including powdery mildew, downy mildew, and gray mold.
Used for wine production. The drinks are characterized by a moderate alcohol content, floral aroma, notes of red berries, and good acidity. Due to moderate extractivity, it is often used in blends.
