Gamaret is a wine grape variety of the species Vitis vinifera, obtained as a result of crossing the Gamay and Reichensteiner varieties. The plant has high vigor. The leaf is pentagonal, five-lobed, deeply dissected. Clusters are medium, cylindrical-conical, medium density. Berries are medium, round, dark blue with a waxy bloom.

The variety is distinguished by increased resistance to grey mold, downy mildew, and powdery mildew. Frost resistance is estimated as slightly increased, down to -22°C. The variety is sensitive to drought and wood diseases, such as esca and flavescence dorée.

The grapes are used for the production of red wines of an intense dark purple color. The flavor and aroma profile of the wines includes notes of blackberry, black fruits, and spicy nuances. The drinks possess expressive, silky tannins and good structure, and are suitable for aging.
