The variety is a natural mutation of the classic Gamay variety. It belongs to the category of "coloring" varieties whose main function is to add color to wines made from other grape varieties. Currently, it is used as a wine grape variety for winemaking.

The variety belongs to the early maturity group. Clusters are small, berries are small or medium-sized, and the juice is pigmented. Young leaves have a bronze tint. The variety is sensitive to gray mold and wood diseases, exhibiting a reaction similar to the base Gamay variety.

Wines from this variety have a more intense color than wines from regular Gamay, however, they are inferior to the classic variety in terms of their aromatic characteristics.
