The variety «Hebén» (also «Even» or «Gibi») is an ancient genetic resource. It is dual-purpose, being used both for the production of white wines with aromas of acacia, geranium, fruits, and nuts, and as a table grape.
The plant has a functionally female flower type and requires cross-pollination. The variety belongs to late ripening groups, is distinguished by loose bunches and increased susceptibility to downy mildew.
In scientific research, the variety is used as a reference standard for the morphometric classification of grape seeds, which allows for the determination of kinship between varieties.
