Variety description

The variety is a natural hybrid resulting from a cross between the Gouais blanc variety and another, as yet unidentified, parent. Historically, it was cultivated in the eastern regions of France, such as Franche-Comté and Ain. Currently, the variety is rare and is mainly preserved in ampelographic collections.

A wine variety of mid to mid-late maturity with hermaphroditic flowers. The vine has an upright growth habit. The leaves are small or medium-sized, round, and slightly lobed. The clusters are medium-sized, dense, and cylindrical in shape. The berries are dark blue, medium-sized, with thin skin and juicy pulp of neutral taste.

The variety is characterized by high yield, resistance to spring frosts, and low susceptibility to flower abortion. At the same time, low resistance to fungal diseases, in particular downy mildew and gray mold, has been noted. Wines from this variety are usually lightly colored and possess increased acidity and astringency.
