The variety is used for technical purposes and is utilized to create white wines with aromas of ripe apples, pear, white flowers, and mineral notes. In winemaking, it is valued for its rounded taste and balanced acidity, often used in blends with the Petit Courbu, Camaralet, and Petit Manseng varieties.

The plant exhibits high vigor, and its name is associated with the slightly curved shape of its shoots. Leaves are rounded, slightly or moderately lobed. The variety shows moderate disease resistance and can be susceptible to downy mildew, powdery mildew, and gray mold.

It is genetically related to the Petit Courbu, Courbu Noir, Lauzet, and Gros Manseng varieties. It is important to distinguish between Gros Courbu and Petit Courbu, as they are different varieties. It is known by the synonyms Courbu, Courbu Blanc, and Bordelès Zuria.
