The variety is the result of a natural mutation, not breeding. The vines are characterized by high vigor. Leaves are medium-sized, rounded, moderately lobed, three- or five-lobed. Clusters are large, dense, and cylindrical-conical in shape. Berries are medium-sized, rounded, and have a golden-emerald or greenish-yellow hue when ripe.

Grenache blanc belongs to mid-season varieties and has an average yield. The plant is drought-tolerant and well adapted to the Mediterranean climate, but is susceptible to downy mildew and gray mold. Given the high vigor of the vines, yield control is required to maintain berry quality.

The variety is intended for the production of wines characterized by full body, rich texture, moderate acidity, and high alcohol content. The aromatic profile includes notes of green apple, pear, citrus, stone fruits, as well as herbal and floral nuances. The variety is prone to oxidation, which requires control during winemaking.
