Sheegene-20
ActiveVitis vinifera L. · Common grape vine
TIMOTHY SHEEHAN
10 August 2026
The variety has a late ripening period and a hermaphroditic flower type. Clusters are medium-sized, cylindrical or conical, dense or medium-dense. Berries are round, medium-sized, golden-yellow in color with thick skin and a heavy waxy bloom, often with characteristic brownish spots.
The plant is well adapted to dry and hot climates, characterized by high yield and relative resistance to winter temperatures, while being susceptible to powdery mildew. It is used exclusively in winemaking to create a wide range of wines, including Marsala, due to its high sugar accumulation potential.
