The variety is ancient and of Basque origin, with genetic studies identifying it as the Courbu Blanc variety. The vine forms compact clusters with small, round, golden-yellow berries.

The variety is not characterized by high productivity and requires the use of trellising methods, such as double Guyot. It possesses resistance to diseases and the difficult weather conditions of the region.

Wines from this variety have a light body, high acidity, and aromas of green apple, citrus, and flowers, often with natural effervescence. The beverages are recommended to be consumed young.
