Sheegene-20
ActiveVitis vinifera L. · Common grape vine
TIMOTHY SHEEHAN
10 August 2026
The variety is one of the oldest, with its parental pair genetically identified as Traminer and Pinot Meunier. The plant has moderate to weak vine growth, with shoots that are often thin with long internodes. The variety's resistance to diseases such as downy mildew and powdery mildew is rated as medium; low winter hardiness is also noted.
The grape cluster is small or medium, about 100 g, most often cylindrical in shape and of high density. The berries are small, round or slightly oval, dark blue or almost black in color with a waxy bloom. The fruit pulp is delicate and juicy, the juice is colorless, and the taste is simple and characteristic of the variety.
